use your emphemera scraps

Last week Tuesday I used my Emphemera scraps to make this card on my Live.

Did you catch the live or the replay?
I thought it would be a good idea to write down how I made this card.

The inspiration for this card came from Gail Ellis.

Card requirements

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock -scored ½ on short side and cut ½ on the long side
  • Basic White Cardstock – slightly narrower than cardbase [layer 1]
  • Basic White Cardstock – 10cm x 8.5cm [layer 2] plus scraps
  • DSP -two strips -width of Layer 1 and 2cm high ( I used the Simply Zinnias DSP)
  • Petal Pink cardstock scraps (sentiment)
  • 2024-2026 In Colour Glimmer paper scrap
  • Simply Zinnia bundle
  • Embossing Folder of choice(I used Quatrefoil)
  • Unbounded Beauty Die
  • Versamark
  • White embossing powder
  • Brushed Butterflies
  • Frames and Flowers 12″x12″ Speciality DSP -leaves

How to assemble your card

  • Emboss your Layer 1 with your folder of choice and adhere to your cardbase
  • Glue the two pieces of DSP onto either side of layer 2
  • Die cut your large petals, the small white “ring” of the Zinnia and the small leaf/flower from Basic White scraps
  • Die cut the middle piece of the Zinnia from the glitter paper
  • Adhere all the zinnia flower pieces together using liquid glue
  • Pop it onto your layer 2/DSP using a dimensional
  • Using scraps from the emphemera from framed and flowers -glue leaves around the flower
  • Place butterflies in place
  • Glue down this layer onto your embossed layer
  • Die cut frame in Petal Pink using Unbounded Beauty
  • Heat emboss a sentiment in white onto the cardstock and adhere with a dimensional onto the bottom right side of Layer 2
  • Glue down your small white zinnia onto the sentiment piece
  • Using your metallic gold effects-draw lines and fill in the bottom of the flower -allow to dry
  • OPTIONAL: create speckles using Petal Pink write marker pen

So, that’s pretty much how I used my emphemera scraps!
