Stunning Father's Day Card

In search of a stunning Father’s Day Card?

Then look no further than this fun-fold card that shows off the He’s the Man Suite so well.

Father’s Day is celebrated a little later down in the South Pacific – in September to be precise.

So, if you’re living in the South Pacific -now would be a good time to start thinking about ideas around Father’s Day.

The He’s the Man suite covers all kinds of blokes -from outdoor lovers, to the BBQ king as well as classic car fans.

I think the suite is great value for money -as you can use it in so many ways.

In this card -I decided I wanted to show off the paper and use some of the cute “stickers” included in the DSP pack.

What you will need for your stunning Father’s Day Card

Cardstock cut 11″ x 5½ – score it along the long side at 4″, 5 3/4″, 7½” and 9¼” (I used early espresso)

Fold these score lines so that they shape like an acordian or W shape.

Designer series paper – cut 1½” x 5¼” (3)

Matching cardstock to your base -3″ x 6″ -scored at 3″ (this is the fun fold) (1)

Matching cardstock to your base -3″x 3″ (1)

Designer series paper for the outside of the fold – cut  2 7/8″ 2 7/8″ (1)

Designer series paper for the inside of the card – cut 3 7/8″ x  5 ¼” (1)

Basic white cardstock – cut 2 7/8 x 2/7″ (2)

How to put your card together

Once you have scored all the lines and folded the cardbase- open it out flat.

Using the 3 pieces of designer series paper -glue your papers down from the outside panel to the inside.

I chose to leave the 4th one blank- as I was using a dark cardstock.

Glue down the bigger designer series paper onto the inside of the card base.

You will now need to take the fun fold card cardstock and glue down the contrasting designer series paper.

I used one of the fun “stickers” in the pack to create my message.

I fussy cut off the trim around the outside of the circle.

Using the circle die in the bundle -I cut out a circle in early espresso and glued on the sticker.

Glue the square basic white cardstock onto the other side of the fun fold panel.

The next step is to stamp an image (if you want) onto the second square white cardstock.

For this image I actually masked off the writing around the compass -as I only wanted the compass to show.

To do this – use washi tape, mask off the part of the stamp not needed.

Then ink up the stamp – remove the washi tape and then stamp the image.

I really liked how it turned out!

You’re almost done!

The next thing is to glue down your fun fold.

Place the card open facing you -then you just need to line up the outside fold of the fun fold with the second score line of the card base.

Lightly glue the fun fold on the side going onto the card base.

Place down and press.

You should then have the W-V shaped card.

Glue down the inside square panel with your sentiment.

Take care not to have it peep out from beind the fun fold!

All that’s left now is to add some embellishments.

I added 3 metallic dots onto the inside -as I felt the outside panel had enough going on.

And there you have a stunning father’s day card!!

I made a similar card using the same fun fold card – in that card I cut extra matte panels.

Until next time!
