Make your own foam

make your own foam

The minute I received my Latte Love Suite of products I wanted to show you how to make your own foam.

We all love pretty foam art on our lattes or cappuchinos.

So, I set myself the challenge to master a way to create realistic-looking foam for my coffee.

It wasn’t that difficult to do.

Let me start by telling you what NOT to do.

And then I’ll go on to tell how how I did my foam.

  • Die cut image AFTER doing the embossing paste
  • Colouring in your image AFTER doing the embossing paste

  • Stamp the image
  • Colour in the stamped image using your blends
  • Die cut the stamped and coloured-in image
  • Now colour up a small amount of embossing paste
  • Add this with a narrow palette knife to the coffee up
  • Allow embossing paste to dry properly

When I followed the second steps -the embossing paste didn’t get squashed onto my cutting mats (oh yes they did!!).

The rim of the coffee mug didn’t bleed -when I first did the paste and then coloured in, the blends all bled into the paste.

Big mistake.

Now the foam looks so much more realistic.

If you’re a visual learner like myself -you can watch the process on my YouTube Live that I did last week.

Here you’ll see exactly how I went about my blending and mixing of colours too.

If you’re loving this whole coffee -theme going on, then you’ll be thrilled to know that the Latte Love suite is an Online Exclusive available to the public from 5th March 2024.

Online Exclusives mean you either have to shop online with me or ask me to order the products on your behalf.

I’m going to be using these cuties for a few more projects -so keep an eye out on more blogs featuring the Latte Love.

Happy crafting!
