Just take a $2 journal from your local K-Mart or Walmart and let’s step this plain old thing up!
And it’s such an easy project to make and then present as a gorgeous gift to someone.
Ready to learn how to do this?
For my project, I decided to use some brand new product that arrived this week.
It’s called Natures Sweetness -and it comes as a Suite of products.
When I saw it in the pre-pre order for demonstrators that attended On Stage a few weeks ago, I fell in love.
I LOVE all things with a vintage/artsy/journal/botanical kind of feel.
So, I added the whole suite into my cart.
What I used to step up my $2 journal
For this $2 journal project, I used some of the Natures Sweetness DSP.
There are 12 sheets of back-to back paper.
I stamped a floral image using the Notes of Nature stampset in Pecan Pie over the DSP.
The white lines needed to break up just a tad.
I then cut two contrasting papers ( because they all work together…another reason why I LOVE Stampin’Up! papers) in rectangle shapes.
Then I glued these down over each other.
The floral focal point is actually on a piece of DSP -which I fussy cut and then coloured in using my water colour pencils.
I chose Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Garden Green as my colours.
It needed to pop against the neutral background.
Then I adhered it using dimensionals onto Vellum cut out using a Deckled Circle die.
This went onto the section where the rectangles met.
I then stamped a sentiment from the Notes of Nature stampset in Pebbled Path.
Lastly, I thread through some Faux Leather trim and my $2 journal was all done.
So, next time you’re stuck for an idea for a friend -just take a $2 journal!
