I love to make intricate, detailed cards. But I also love how you can elevate a simple card with embossing.
And in this blogpost, I have done exactly that with the brand new 3D basics embossing folders.
These 3D basics embossing folders are currently available in the Online Exclusives happening at the time of this post.
How can you elevate your cards?
I used the Country Floral DSP to complement the embossed design.
This paper features beautiful floral and heart designs that will perfectly complement the textured background created by the embossing folder.
When choosing your stamps, opt for simple designs that won’t compete with the embossed pattern.
For example, a sentiment or a small image in a complementary color would work well.
In this card, I went with an inspirational saying that I easily could’ve gifted the card to myself to hear!

Heat emboss your sentiment to continue the theme
I chose to emboss the sentiment with basic black embossing powder -to carry on the theme of elevating your card with embossing.
You may want to consider using a Stamparatus for precise placement and to make the process of stamping much easier.
Once you have your embossed cardstock and stamped design, assemble your card using a card base – I opted to use Sweet Sorbet and coordinating embellishments.
You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to create a stunning and textured card design with just a few simple supplies!
Don’t be afraid to experiment with different color combinations and patterns to find the perfect look for your design.
And remember, with the 3D Basic Embossing Folder and a little bit of simple stamping, you can take your handmade cards to the next level.
I have provided a full SUPPLY LIST here for you, if you’d like to grab any of the items I used.
I also have tutorials for sale where I step you through more detailed projects -if you’re looking to elevate your cards even more!
And just like that you have elevated your card with embossing!
Happy crafting…
