We are always on the lookout for ways to elevate our cardmaking.
Or perhaps you’re a brand new papercrafter and have no idea what Vellum is.
Welcome then to this blogpost on 3 creative ways to use vellum and elevate your cardmaking.
For this example I have used the brand new and stunningly gorgeous Meandering Meadows Suite that is now available to all customers.

I wanted to showcase both sides of the pretty papers -so I chose the sky paper and die cut a rectangle using the Scalloped Contours die.
I flipped the paper over and die cut the tree using the smaller Scalloped Contours rectangle dies.
Then here comes creative tip #1 – I stamped the wheelbarrow using StazOn black onto Vellum.
You will need to use StazOn as it’s alcohol based and will not smudge on the waxy coating of the Vellum.
Creative Tip #2 was to use Stampin’Blends and I coloured the REVERSE side of the stamped image using the dark Stampin’Blends.
If you’re interested in knowing which colours I used – they were Crumb Cake (wheelbarrow), Smokey Slate(wheel), Flirty Flamingo (flowers), Highland Heather (flowers), Pumpkin Pie (flowers) and Old Olive (leaves).
I also stamped the rake and spade in StazOn and then coloured them both in Crumb Cake.
I then die cut them out using the matching dies.
My last creative way to use Vellum (which I didn’t do here) is to simply place a piece of Vellum over a busy print.
This “tones” down a busy print and helps to draw the eye towards a focal point.
By using these 3 creative ways with Vellum it will elevate your cardmaking and provide you with so many fun ideas!
