A fun slider card

a fun slider card

What a fun slider card to make featuring the Sailboat Bundle and New Horizons Paper!

I first saw this fun slider card on a video by Lisa Curcio a few months ago.

I loved what she created in the video, but I wanted to do something different.

So I am very pleased with how this project has turned out!

Of course, you can adapt this to suit whatever you have in your stash.

There are no limits to the variations of this fun slider card.

Shall we get started? You can watch it here:

What you will need to create your fun slider card

Cardstock of choice ( I used night of navy) – cut 5½” x 8 ½”. Score this at ½” & 4½”

Piece of designer series paper (or you can stamp a background image) – 5 7/16″ x 3 7/8″

Basic white cardstock (for the inside) – 3 3/4″ x 5¼”

Punch -3/4″ or smaller

Ribbon

Tear and tape

1x dimensional

Scrap basic white for the tab – 3/4″ x 3 ¼”

Die or stamped image that will be the focus point (mine is the yacht)

Now the how of creating your fun slider card

Score your fold lines on your cardstock -making sure the narrow ½” fold is going to be facing towards the back of the card

Glue your designer series paper onto the front of your card

Now turn your card upside down.

With the narrow ½” fold open and facing away from the cutting blade, position it at 1 3/4″ on the paper trimmer.

Take your blade and look on the guide.

Find the 1″ position.

Place your blade down onto the paper and drag it to 4½”.

Stop.

Go back and forwards along this cut at least 3-4 times.

You should feel where the cut is -it will resist beyond the 1″ and 4½” points.

Now measure 2″ on the side of the card where your inside piece will come out. Mine was on the right hand side.

Draw a pencil line here, and using your punch -punch a notch in the cardstock.

The next thing is to insert the little slider.

Place a dimensional on the end of the scrap piece of basic white.

Insert it through the slit you cut.

Turn the card to the back and using your tear ‘n tape -adhere the strip to the white inner piece.

Take care that the edge of the white inner card lies flush with the opening.

Now using your tear and tape again – glue down that little ½” fold. Make sure it faces to the back of the card.

Also make sure you are not gluing down the inner cardstock!!!

Almost done making your card!

We’re almost finished making this fun card!

Line up the inner with the notch you created and make a small hole in the middle.

Insert your ribbon through the hole.

You can then stamp a saying on the inside piece.

Adhere whatever focus image you’re using onto the dimensional.

And with any luck- you should be able to slide the inside card in and out, with the focus image moving!
